wow….

where do xtians get this shit?
It’s funny, but I think the amount of information available isn’t helping some people understand other folk’s viewpoints these days, but compartmentalizing them, locking them into little groups. I heard something or read something this week that shoved that thought into my head (can’t remember where)…I’d imagine there’s xtians that NEVER read anything not explicitly within their belief system, unless its on some very popular media outlet. so let’s say something people more open-minded are familiar with for a while, and it suddenly gets some play on TV. “How 2007!” we smirk, but it’s their first exposure, say on local TV news.
I use “we” but as I was considering the thought this weekend I realized I myself am loathe to venture too far outside my own confines. Of course some of what I like to do is look at and mock those I disagree with, which carries with it some exposure. I’m sure I’ve got a lot more exposure to stupid fundamentalist shit than that state rep has to atheism.

april foolz

that was yesterday, but i prefer to treat every day like foolz day.

THE FREED PIG

You were right
I was battling you, trying to prove myself
I tried to bury you with guilt; I wanted to prove you wrong
I’ve got nothing better to do than pay too much attention to you
It’s sad, but it’s not your fault
Self-righteous and rude
I guess I lost that cool
Tapping ‘til I drive you insane
I’m self-righteous, but never right
So laid back, but so uptight
Destroying your patience to tolerate me
With all the negative spirit I bring
Right, I was obsessed to bring you down
Watching your every move
Playing a little-boy game
Always with something to prove
Waiting to cut you down, making it hard to live
With only one thing to do
Cut me first, make it easy
Now you will be free
Now that nothing depends on me
Tapping ‘til I drive you insane
Now you will be free
With no sick people tugging on your sleeve
Your big head has that “more room to grow”
A glory I will never know
A glory I will never know

ackoostickle!

oh my fucking jeebus

This is insane. Why aren’t these fucking people in jail?

WESTON — An 11-year-old girl died after her parents prayed for healing rather than seek medical help for a treatable form of diabetes, police said Tuesday.
Everest Metro Police Chief Dan Vergin said Madeline Neumann died Sunday.
“She got sicker and sicker until she was dead,” he said.
Vergin said an autopsy determined the girl died from diabetic ketoacidosis, an ailment that left her with too little insulin in her body, and she had probably been ill for about 30 days, suffering symptoms like nausea, vomiting, excessive thirst, loss of appetite and weakness.

They fucking KILLED THEIR KID. These “loving parents” are FUCKING MURDERERS.

Please, please send this to everyone you know…the police in this situation are putting the other kids’ lives at risk.

Unfuckingbelievable:

The mother believes the girl could still be resurrected, the police chief said.

Some people should be tossed in the fucking ocean with rocks tied to their feet. Or maybe left on the beach at low tide.

fuck yeah

The other thing we evolutionary biologists don’t do enough of, and this stems from the previous point, is make an emotional and moral case for the study of evolution. Last night, I concluded my talk with a quote from Dover, PA creationist school board member William Cunningham, who declared, “Two thousand years ago someone died on a cross. Can’t someone take a stand for him?”

My response was, “In the last two minutes, someone died from a bacterial infection. We take a stand for him.”

i told someone i’d go to their birthday party today, i forgot completely. i feel like the world’s stinkiest penis about it…i spent the whole day feeling super-sorry for myself, and then realize i’d hosed someone else over. what a jackass i am.

poot

i was fighting the mold in my bowl with my pee
when a thought popped into my brain
if all of us hated high school so much
why was nothing ever changed?
so i called brian up with my plan that’s red hot
a private institution in the name of punk-rock
we got some government funding & our own
private road & 666 for our radio snow code.

i had a dream when i was in high school that i
attended the punk rock academy
i had a dream when i was in high school that i
attended the punk rock academy

Chris Jensen’s teaching science & he’s still
running mountain.
we fired the gun from bad religion cuz he
sold punk rock out & we’ll give the dirty punx a
dip & get rid of all their fleas.
and we’ll never buy anything with a UPC.

i had a dream when i was in high school that i
attended the punk rock academy
i had a dream when i was in high school
that there was a punk rock academy
& no one made fun of me

At the punk rock academy,
Where all the students, their diagnosed with ADD
Take me home 2 night
I dun wanna let you go till the feelings right
Take me home 2 night
I dun wanna let you go till the feelings right…

We will import a token joke & then we’ll
kick his token ass & there will never ever be
a physical education class.
Think about, you’ll agree.
It’s the bizzity bizzity bomb
& maybe we can get assuck to
play the senior prom.

i had a dream when i was in high school that i
attended the punk rock academy
i had a dream when i was in high school
that there was a punk rock academy
& no one made fun of me!

whoever did those lyrics is god damned bad at spelling. this website just went in the shitter for a couple weeks huh?

holy shit

Justice Antonin Scalia is a fucking crazy son of a bitch. He says torturing people is just fine if it can stop an imminent attack. Of course, he fails to mention that it’s been tried with limited success and every time has left the nation torturing in worse position than before. Not to mention that it almost never works to get useful information. So not only are the torturers sacrificing their souls, they’re doing it for almost nothing.
WaPo did a story, Atlantic Monthly did too (this is the author talking about it, it’s apparently not available online). The French realized they gained nothing and lost much in Algeria…a war where they won all the military engagements and lost anyways. Sound familiar?
